The role
You join a senior crew shipping business software across nine sectors — owning services end to end, from discovery blueprints to production monitoring. Small teams, direct clients, zero politics: the best argument wins, whatever the title.
What you’ll do
- Design and ship backend services and integrations clients rely on daily.
- Run weekly increments with CI/CD, reviews and QA sign-off on everything.
- Join discovery workshops and turn findings into buildable plans.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, RFCs and blameless post-mortems.
What you bring
- 5+ years building and operating production backends.
- Strong API design instincts and database fundamentals.
- CI/CD, containers and cloud delivery you have actually run.
- Clear written communication — status in links, not meetings.
Nice to have
- Event-driven systems and background job design.
- AI-adjacent work: evals, retrieval, or agent tooling.
- Open source or conference talks we can read.
